The Nintendo DS is proving to be THE platform this generation for RPG’s and today, popular Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, only reinforced that fact with the announcement of Estopolis (the Japanese name for Lufia). Yes RPG aficionados, more RPG goodness is on the way. The Square Enix developed remake of Lufia II, originally released on the Super Nintendo, will feature not only 3D visuals but full voice-over and a complete combat overhaul. Rather than being a turned-based affair like the original, Estopolis will be an action-rpg, so for those tired of turn-based combat you can breathe a sigh of relief. The game is currently scheduled for release on February 25th in Japan and is currently unannounced for here in the US. Be sure to check back near the game’s release as we’ll be sure to have some hands-on play impressions and more information for you RPG and Lufia fans.
