I’m not going to lie. After seeing the overly-cutesy visuals of this game, I figured this game wasn’t for me. A grown man of all things playing a game like this! After swallowing my pride and giving the game a chance though, I discovered a fun and addicting tower defense game that’s hard to put down. For those looking for a game with an actual plot, this probably isn’t your type of game. There is a loose story (and I do mean loose) but it’s basically window dressing, allowing the player to get from one level to the next. The basic premise of the game is the peaceful town of Ninjatown, populated by ninjas of course, is being threatened by Mr. Demon and his hordes of monstrous followers. It’s your job to rally the troops and defend Ninjatown from it’s invaders.
The game gradually introduces new units for you to command, ranging from regular everyday ninjas, peashooter weilding ninjas, and even business ninjas. Ninjatown is all about resource management and quick thinking, with various enemy waves parading forth requiring you to use your ninjas wisely as some enemies can only be defeated by certain ninjas. For those that give the game a chance, despite it’s sugar coated exterior, you’ll find that the inside of Ninjatown is so much sweeter with solid gameplay and a charming cast that will have grown on you by the game’s end.
