South Park proves no nationality is safe from scrutiny as a recent episode from their newest season, entitled “Whale Whores“, pokes fun at the Japanese people. Without spoiling too much, the episode begins with Stan and his family enjoying a day at the Denver Aquarium. The good times don’t last for long when a horde of Japanese with spears suddenly attack and kill all dolphins and whales. This leads Stan on a quest to save these peaceful creatures of the sea, joining the cast of Whale Wars, in an attempt to stop the Japanese as well as discover why they hate dolphins and whales so much. The episode can be viewed here.
Below, I’ve enclosed a clip from the episode. In the clip, the Japanese continue their slaughter of dolphins and whales with the eradication of another set of dolphins…

Yeah, a friend was telling me about this…apparently there was a recent pseudo-documentary called The Cove about a Japanese fishing village that makes its livelihood slaughtering dolphins. But the SP episode makes the quite good point that we perhaps value dolphins and whales more than other animals because, well, they’re really big
Remember the SP Pokemon episode? That was…interesting too
