Two years after announcing their reformation and promises of a U.S. live show, veteran Japanese visual kei superstars X JAPAN have announced the filming of 4 new music videos to be set in Hollywood. Apparently you have to sign up for the event on their website to get an “invite” but then you also get to meet the band. Production will begin January 9th and will mark the band’s first U.S. appearance together. It’s not a live performance and all the music is pre-recorded, but the band is encouraging fans to come out with signs, dress up/cosplay, and spread the word.

I don’t know what songs they’ll be using, but hopefully it’s four brand new songs! Yeah, the classics are great but it’s time for some new music. Seriously. Too bad they haven’t given us much time to make arrangements to get to Hollywood. This is all pretty cool, but it doesn’t make up for the cancellation of the MSG show or all the promises of a “world tour.”

I’m sure “X JAPAN in the U.S. - Part 2 - LIVE in _____” will be written in 2012, right before the world explodes.

It’s going great! We had so much fun with our families over the Christmas holiday - it’s fabulous having so many more relatives now :-) How’s the new year looking for you?

Thanks Tammy. How’s married life going for you?

They are a metal band.. kinda. I mean, they have a lot of piano ballads and emotional slow songs, but they also have some really energetic heavy tunes as well. They’re worth checking out since their wide spectrum of songs means you’ll likely find something you like about them, even if it’s just one or two songs.

Wow. I haven’t heard of their music but I know that they are pretty big.
