It’s hard to believe that Colonel Sanders has been present in Japan for 40 years now, but that’s exactly how long it’s been. To celebrate, KFC has not only appointed an ambassador for the occasion, but will be running some food specials as well.

From February 4th to March 24th, anyone who buys a special barrel containing five pieces of chicken and your choice of two side dishes will be entered in a lottery. This lottery will give forty chosen people eight coupons to use at the fast food restaurant. And that’s only the first special, there will be more throughout the year.

Actress Haruka Ayase has been appointed the ambassador and I’m assuming she’ll be appearing in commercials.

So if you’re in Japan, be sure to get your chicken fix!
