Forget Sherlock Holmes, there’s a new detective in town. The popular manga Konchu Tantei Yoshida Yoshimi (Insect Detective Yoshimi Yoshida) is getting the silver screen treatment this April. Reeking of japanese quirkiness, Insect Detective follows the adventures of a detective with the unique ability to speak to insects. Along with a dog named Mugi (with a 3rd-grade intelligence mind you) and a trash-talking, foul-mouthed parrot named Pitan, the bug-brained detective will take on a series of cases that are just begging to be solved. Part Ace Ventura, part Doctor Dolittle, this movie looks like an absolute must watch. I personally can’t wait. A trailer for the film is enclosed below.

Awesome photo op.

I know! I would see this movie for that picture alone.

Ha ha, that picture of him with the rhino beetle is so cute!

^It’s Sho Aikawa, I think. He was on Hey, Hey, Hey in a video when Yamapi was the guest.

Hey it’s this guy. I’ve seen him in the drama and movie Kurosagi. His laugh is pretty annoying.

Movie looks good. I’ll have to look out for this one.
