After moderate success with their last console the Gamecube, Nintendo seems to have hit the their stride this generation. With their “gaming is for everyone” approach, Nintendo’s changed the face of video games forever and has even managed to woo the Holy Grail of demographics - EVERYONE. Whether it’s your little brother or your great grandmother Ethel, there’s no age group that hasn’t been caught up in the wii-mote waggling madness of Wii Sports, Wii Fit, and the like.
But that’s not to say Nintendo is doing everything right. There’s always room for improvement and with that in mind, I’ve compiled a list of 5 things the big N can do to maximize their success this new year. More »

I’m not one to make new year’s resolutions. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I’ve made one. So when the new year’s resolution special reared its ugly little head on the Rekuru calendar, I was stumped. More »
And by horror, I mean horror anime. I mean, my goodness, self. You watched Vampire Hunter D and freaked out. You watched Nightwalker and freaked out. Princess Mononoke made you squeamish. Is there anything you can handle?
We always have a better sense of the resolutions our friends should make than those we should make ourselves. My own are rather simple: become wealthier and master the art of invisibility. But for certain of our friends across the pond, I have a few words of advice. More »

From Girlybubble: Sleepy kittens, mournful puppies, gloriously obese cats, dramatic possums, fuzzy bunnies, balled-up hedgehogs, diva otters, tiny hamsters, fluffy llamas…and a hanging panda. I dare you not to smile.

From Ningin:
Congratulations to Ningin again for the upset win over Wirebot in the inaugural MLG tournament. So far I like what I’m seeing with Mixr League Gaming. There has been many a tearful eye, much blood was spilled, and we even had a couple of babies exchanged hands. Yes, all this makes for a bright MLG future and something that we’re going to greatly expand. Pretty soon, we’re going to have users form their own teams and play for pins. prizes, and other glories in the MLG Ladders. Still lots of testing that needs to be done, but we’re getting there! From Ningin: A big surprise from the Sony and Panasonic team. Each of the two 25GB layers has been refined to 33.4GB per layer. They have been working a refinement for a while now, as the weakest chain in their technology is NOT their lasers. Why fix the body when you can fix the brain? How does this work, without buying any additional parts? A firmware update (FREE DOWNLOAD) to your blu-ray player or PS3 will tell your lasers to read more precisely and pack data more closely within the same space efficiently. (Improving error check.) I always find it so cool when Japanese celebrities film something in America, so of course this was no exception. More »
