Oh yes, it’s the wonderful time of year in Japan when all the Cherry Blossoms are about to bloom. While you silly (dirty) foreigners may not care about such trivial things as Cherry Blossoms, the Japanese go crazy for it. Which is why the national weather service actually puts out a Cherry Blossom map and time-table.

Cherry Blossoms are not just fun to look at, they’re big business around Japan. Just try booking a hotel or a place to eat during blossom season in Kyoto or Hemeji. Believe me when I say it’s impossible. A lot of places use blossom season as a major revenue source throughout the year, advertising and offering tours year-round.
