From Ningin: Arashi’s Homework mostly known as Arashi no Shukudai-kun is ending March 22, and I am crying myself to sleep tonight. They have run since 2006 when G no Arashi ended, and they have maintained high ratings for the show despite being shown late at night. This show brought us Aiba Engrish and Ailand, where Aiba had some crazy stuff to do and Aiba Sugoroku took place. This show brought us the term Sho!fail as Sakurai Sho failed at pretty much everything he does. More »

From Ningin: I never knew Persona 3 Audio Dramas existed until recently. They are supposed to be a lot of them but the only one I’ve watched/listened to was “A Certain Day of Summer.” Although audio dramas are supposed to be audio only, these are animated for some reason, I’m assuming it’s a fan who did it. This one was pretty funny and got me interested in more, but not interested enough to search for them. Maybe if I ever stumble across a bundle of them all translated I’ll watch it. Wikipedia says that there’s another audio drama coming out February 25th. Maybe by then I’ll be motivated to look for more. If I knew about this while I was playing through P3 I’d be all over it. I’ll definitely be playing P3 portable though. More »

A while back, I posted my 5 Movies That Should Be Made Into An Anime which turned out to be a huge hit. Now, with Akira Kurosawa month all but over, I’m going back in for another edition of movies that should be made into an anime. And while Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai has already recieved the anime treatment, there are plenty of other Kurosawa films that could make for an excellent animated watch. So whether I’m flirting with success (or disaster), I give you 5 Kurosawa Films That Should Be Made Into An Anime. More »

From Girlybubble: Why isn’t it everyday I stumble upon a non-carbonated beverage with a kawaii mascot? Oh wait, I live in America. Foods or beverages are hardly marketed as cute. Japan’s Qoo drink is a non-carbonated beverage made by the Coca Cola Company that was named after the reaction of it’s kawaii mascot. “Qoo” is the sound the mascot makes. Looking at this cute mascot, it’s hard to say what it is exactly. All one could gather is that it’s round, blue, happy and kind of looks like a puppy. More »

From Ningin: Today’s Music Video of the Day comes from Japanese artist Tommy heavenly6 (also known as Tommy february6 or Tomoko Kawase of the brilliant green). All of her music videos are typically strange and random but I decided upon I’m Gonna SCREAM+ because 1) it’s one of my favorite songs from her and 2) it contains a lot of my guilty pleasure: candy. From Ningin: So enough of this filler junk that the anime is dealing out in Bleach. Today’s post is going to regress back to the actual storyline. The latest chapter of the Bleach manga is Chapter 391: The Blazing Glaciers. More »

From Ningin: Only half way through Round II of MLG Season I and already we know who the stars are of this round! Speaking of stars, if you can imagine me speaking with a southern accent, I’d be saying this: “Oh my stars! Looks like Ningin is in the lead based on who the top scorers are!” …but I don’t have an accent. Here are the current top scorers holding it down for their respective teams: More »

From Ningin: Shota Shimizu and Miliyah Kato are the kind of singers that are just plain amazing. When you get them together, they pretty much make magic with their music. Last year, the two Japanese singers released “Love Forever,” and this year they released “Forever Love.” The first one was more of Miliyah’s song, and the latter one Shota’s. Either way the two are amazing together. More »
