They’re not so much watching you as making sure you’re keeping busy. New technology developed by the fun people over at KDDI have found a way to make your cell phone tell them if you’re goofing off at work. Which clearly can’t be good for those of us who do love our goofing time.
The way they’ve done this is quite smart. They use a cell phone’s built in motion sensor to monitor movement, and then run that through a computer to see if it matches the kind of work you should be doing.
Yeah. It’s a bit freaky, but it’s the kind of freaky that Japanese bosses and companies would LOVE to have. Plus this being Japan and all, it’s not something that the employees would fight.
Oh well, at least those of us with desk jobs have a reason why our phone’s are sitting still…
