It’s more or less exactly like it sounds. Japanese McDonalds is now developing software to use with the Nintendo DS in order to better train it’s employees. Just when you thought the Japanese couldn’t get any more Nintendo DS obsessed we find out about this.

The software, called “eSmart,” is going to cost 200 million yen to develop. Which is just over $2 Million dollars. All of this in an effort to cut down training time and costs.

Which begs the bigger question, how long does it actually take to train a new McDonald’s employee? Apparently long enough to so justify spending $2 million dollars on some software. Either way my chicken sandwiches always seem to have mayo on them when I always ask for none.

It’s sad what the world has come to.

Wouldn’t computer software be a bit cheaper to develop than $2 million? I guess McDonald’s Japan wants its employees to have the units on-hand at all times, but the DS’s lack of touchscreen and low-res display cannot be fun to learn on, yet middle and junior-high school student in Japan will be learning on it starting this new school year.

Globalization….. yuck

How hard is it to be a mcdonalds employee in Japan? Jeez!

Japenese mcdonalds?! They have maccas in japan?!
