Prince of Tennis was actually the first manga that got me into Shonen Jump. Shonen Jump is basically boy manga (sports, fighting, etc.). It’s about a boy, Ryoma Echizen, who joins the Seigaku tennis team. He is a genius whose catchphrase is “Mada Mada Dane” which means “You have a way to go.” The manga follows the middle school team (although they don’t look like middle schoolers) all the way to the national championships.

This manga is probably for boys more than girls, but I really liked it. It is so popular that there is an anime, musical, and a live action movie. The musical is still going. The movie stars most of the main cast from the musical except Kanata Hongo who took the role of Echizen. I really liked the movie, but most people don’t like it. I think you should all read it!! There are like 20 something volumes and lots of chapters, but I was always entertained!!

I have this new obsession with Kanata, which is why I decided this should be chosen!! Look forward to more …. of the weeks!!
