Unicharm corporation recently gathered 100 gyaru (”gals”) and marched them around Japan in matching pink shirts and fans to promote their “Pon-Katsu” campaign (aka tampons). Maybe it’s just me, but there’s always this thing with Asians and tampons. My mom herself is a fervent believer in the theory called tampons-steal-your-virginity. Now, I always thought that this was just another “oh, my mom” thing, but apparently not.
Here’s a video of this event in Harajuku:
All I can say is, my eyes are hurting from the excessive pink and dyed hair. But I’m not shooting down their cause. Tampons are definitely more helpful than pads in certain cases (coughswimmingcough). But I don’t get why this video was on the most-watched list for YouTube Japan…
Boys will be boys, I guess.
And girls, remember, tampons do not steal your virginity.
