The DVD of Jin Akanishi’s movie “BANDAGE” has just been released and it has already sold more than 37,000 copies in Japan putting it on the top of the Oricon charts. This record does not only give Jin Akanishi his first number one in his solo career but it also beats his previous record for selling more than 20,000 DVD copies from his drama “Yukan Club.”
In the movie, Akanishi plays Natsu, the leader and vocalist of a 4-member rock band called LANDS. The story follows the ups and downs of the members’ friendship as they aim for fame.
The movie was released in Japan last November 21, 2009 and back then it has pre-sold more than 70,000 tickets marking the largest number of pre-sold tickets Toho Cinema has sold for a live action film.
