Since Halloween’s right around the corner, I thought that something like Hellsing would be appropriate for today’s anime song of the day. Ishii Yasushi is a composer and voice actor who scored the Hellsing soundtrack amidst other works like the OST for Darker than BLACK: Ryuusei no Gemini.
Hellsing is known for having one of the most badass anti-heros in all of anime, the ancient vampire Alucard (which is Dracula spelled backward, if you wanna know) who kills other demons and lesser vampires as a servant of the Hellsing organization. Seras Victoria, a police recruit, gets caught in an operation one day and is saved by Alucard, at the expense of turning into a vampire herself.
I wish people’s opinions of vampires would return to the image that Alucard presents, and not the modern day image of pale emo kids helplessly in love. Although he’s about 7 feet tall, wears a long red cloak with matching hat, yellow sunglasses, totes dual pistols, can get his head shot off without flinching, and doesn’t give a damn about what others think, he still miles classier than any vampire on primetime TV nowadays. Plus, he doesn’t glitter.
