The plot is about Keima Katsuragi, a second-year high school student, is a fanatical bishojo game player. On the Internet he is known as “The Capturing God’ for his legendary skills to be able to capture and complete any 2D girl in games. However, in his actual school life, Keima is known as nothing but a gloomy geek.

In the beginning of the series, Keima receives an e-mail offering him a contract to “capture” girls. He accepts the contract, thinking it is an invitation to a game, but then a demon from Hell named Elsie appears. She asks for his cooperation to help her in capturing runaway spirits. These spirits hide themselves inside the hearts of girls, and Elsie suggests that the only method to force the spirits out is by “capturing” the girls hearts—making them fall in love with him and filling up the gaps which the runaway spirits hide in. However, Keima is against the idea and refuses the assignment as he has no interest in real girls but only interested in 2D girls. Nevertheless, with the contract already agreed, Keima has no choice but to help Elsie no matter what as they will be beheaded if they fail.

The manga is funny to read as you witness a gamer geek go out and capture the hearts of girls. Keima does not look like an ugly guy, but rather looks handsome and dresses fashionably. Yet its his interest in 2D game girls that seem to cause girls to look down on him. The drawing style is very nice and smooth. I recommend this manga for those who like to read about high school romance and the like.
