Learning a new language can be difficult and Japanese is no exception. Fortunately, JapanStyle have formed a small guide on remembering some interesting Japanese words or phrases. These words/phrases can be learnt easily because the pronunciation of the words can be formed into English words/phrases.
Saikou (the highest) → Psycho
Binbou (poor) → Bimbo
Kichinto (accurately) → Kitchen toe
Ranbo (violence) → Rambo
Moshi-moshi (hello (on the phone)) → Washing machine
Dou-itashimashite (your welcome) → Don’t touch my mustache
Akan (no good) → I can’t
Itadakimasu (expression of gratitude before meals) → Eat a duck I must
This is so excellent. The words/phrases I can remember now are ‘Binbou’ and ‘Itadakimasu’. Each time I head out to a Japanese restaurant, I can sound out “Eat a duck I must” and make it sound like Japanese.
What words/phrases can you remember now?
