A traditional Japanese candle stick not only looks better than a regular European and American candle stick but it functions better too. This particular Japanese candle stick is stronger and more long-lasting when compared to an American one with a burnable time of about 55 minutes.

When comparing a Japanese candle stick to those sold in Europe and America, the raw material differs a lot. Japanese candle sticks use plant wax while the other ones are made from paraffin based petroleum.

Another difference is that the Japanese candle wicks are made of Japanese paper and soft rush, the material used to make a tatami mat or to be taken as medicine. This feature makes the flame stronger and harder to blow out. The Japanese candles also have longer wicks which display a bigger flame.
