Holidays are approaching, and all the families should be busy gathering things to construct Christmas trees. They are known to be flamboyant and over the top, so electric bills are going to be through the roof. However, in Japan, one smart idea they use is utilizing an electric eel to power generate a Christmas tree.

One aquarium in Japan (the Enoshima Aquarium in Kamakura) is using this idea to power a huge Christmas tree. A very nice way to avoid paying high electric bills, right? Though the eel doesn’t give out consistent light, it’s still strong enough to do whatever it needs to get done.
