No, the Disney characters were not the ones you see in the cartoons, but people dressed in costumes! On March 31, Arashi’s variety show Himitsu no Arashi-chan welcomed special guest star Mickey Mouse and a few other fellow Disney characters onto the stage.

Previously, Arashi held a special christmas live in Tokyo Disney Sea on November 20 in 2009, so this marked the second time for the Japanese music group to co-star with Mickey.

On this special episode, Mickey introduced his hometown “TOON TOWN“, showing off his special rhythmic skills at playing the drums. Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Chip and Dale were also present.

Mickey had each Arashi member team up with a Disney character (Ohno with Mickey, Sakurai with Goofy, Ninomiya with Chip and Dale, Aiba with Donald, Matsumoto with Minnie), and the characters taught Arashi some choreography.

Gotta admit, it was pretty funny to watch Arashi try and copy the cutesy and moves while bearing a slight look of embarrassment on their faces. Those Disney characters have got some slick and hilarious moves! Check out the clip below:

As a very special treat, at the end of the show Arashi and the Disney fellows sang a lovely collaboration together on the stage. Arashi performed “When You Wish upon a Star” from Pinocchio and the “Mickey Mouse March” with the jovial characters.

Love their colorful outfits, and Arashi looks so handsome in their costumes while singing. Aren’t they all adorable? Mickey sounds so cute in Japanese!
