NHK’s morning drama, “Ohimasa” which begun airing on April 4, received an overwhelming rating of 18.4% on its first day of airing! The cast includes Inoue Mao, Koura Kengo, Tanaka Kei, Nagayama Kento and a whole lot more.
The drama tells the story of when a young woman named Yoko (Inoue Mao) who lives in the turbelent Showa era. The whole plot takes place during the pre-war times, war times and post-war times. “Ohimasa” was derived from Yoko’s smile which is said to be bright as the sun. The whole drama reflects of the strong yet kind Japanese women of the time.
The drama will air a total of 156 episodes. With the response received during the first day, it seems like this will be another NHK hit - let’s just wait and see!
