Apart from the millions of Japanese citizens affected from the earthquake, there is also one industry we didn’t quite notice among the group. That is the business in Tohoku area, which specialize in fuzoku trade (commercial sex). Yes. Even the commercial sex industry suffered.

In prefectures such as Miyagi, Onahama, and Fukushima, soaplands (erotic bathhouses) are being forced to close down, and girls working there are now unemployed. Surprisingly, these businesses are seeking for financial assistance, from prefectures such as Gifu.

The president of the MGM Collection (soapland company) states that he will “provide support” to the affected members and their families in the industry. Apart from the money, apartments are offering cheap rent to the families, at a rate of 40,000 yen a month (around $400 USD).

Clubs in other cities, such as the SM club Carma in Osaka, are offering discounts to customer if they agree to donate to this cause. So far, 42 clubs in the Ogoto soapland cooperative union in Shiga Prefecture have agreed to this fundraising event.

As shocking as it may be, they are generating a lot of donations. Who would have thought that people in the sex trade industry are this united?

Would you guys donate to this cause?
