On April 9th, Yamaguchi-gumi’s head was released from prison after 5 years. The Yamaguchi-gumi is one of Japan’s largest crime syndicate, also known as Yakuza (Asian Mafia). The head of the Yakuza is called Kenichi Shinoda (69), who after being released, stated that the police of Japan needs to start preparing for very “aggressive activities” by the syndicate. Yamaguchi-gumi has about 34,900 members nation wide, which is about 44% of Japan’s entire Yakuza organization. Talk about power!
Back in 1997, Shinoda was accused of possession of a gun by a member of the Yamaguchi-gumi syndicate, and was thus arrested. While on bail in 2005, this man was promoted to being the sixth boss of the syndicate.
What a dangerous man. I bet even the police of Japan can’t do anything about his control over the crime scenes in Japan!
