The Incite Mill is a movie project by Horipro management and only casted actors under their management. It was to commemorate 50 years. Sadly, it didn’t do the 50 years justice, but I’ll get to that later. Asianmediawiki shared this synopsis: “Ten people gather together at a complex named “Ankikan” after hearing of a short term job paying 112,000 Yen ($1,236 USD) per hour. The ten people are informed that they will be monitored 24 hours a day for 7 days straight in a psychological experiment. They are then sent to individual rooms with a different weapon located in each room. Once they are locked in they learn the rules of the psychological experiment. 1.) Each person must return to their room by 10 PM. 2.) At the end of 7 days or when there are only two surviving members left alive the experiment will end. The next day a person is found shot to death. Now, what looked like a dream job will turn into a nightmare… “
Review: It was a lot like Saw almost. Someone dies, and everyone thinks there’s a murderer among them. Pretty typical. I called what happens from almost the beginning, but there were some things I didn’t quite see coming, but it didn’t help the movie much. While I’m a fan of Tatsuya Fujiwara (Death Note), his acting is pretty much the same in everyone of his movies that it’s getting pretty boring. The newbie actor of the group…definitely showed that he was a newbie. The only person’s acting that I really bought was veteran actor Kinya Kitaoji. The movie and storyline was mediocre at best, and the special effects for Guard was pretty terrible. I could tell it was a cartoon. I was definitely disappointed.
Lindsey’s Grade: C- I wouldn’t watch it unless you are a fan of one of the many actors or if you are extremely bored, but the movie probably won’t help with that.
