It’s always great to see other countries providing assistance to the other countries in times of difficulty. The U.S. Department of Energy is shipping 5 stainless steel tanks and a tractor trailer with a shielded tank to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.
The tanks and trailers will help ship the water contaminated with radioactive materials away. The water from the basements of the Nos. 1 to 3 reactor turbine buildings and connecting trenches will go to the tanks, while the contaminated water characterization will be poured into the trailer.
A lot of effort has been put into the process to cool down the nuclear plant. But the cooling still needs to continue, and the pools of contaminated water is slowing down the process. This form of assistance from U.S. will be of great help to the Japanese because the water is extremely dangerous and should not be contacted by human.
Thanks America!
