The 16th issue of Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon magazine announced on Saturday that Blade of the Immortal creator Hiroaki Samura will be ending his Halcyon Lunch manga in the next issue which will be published in July. Samura launched the manga in the magazine’s premiere issue in 2008. The story is about Gen, a 38 year old man who looses everything and then meets a girl who will eat everything and anything.
Samura will launch a new series which is called Beagerutā which will be in the next issue of Kodansha’s Nemesis magazine and will be released on the 7th July. Beagerutā revoles around battles over money between three woman. One is a “passionate psychedelic revenger” named Nami, a “china dress-wearing killing machine” named Je-Mao, and a female gang leader named Shinobu Aza.
In the same issue of Good! Afternoon, the artist Chieko Kobayashi and writer Seiji Uozumi resumed their Trial Ride horse-racing manga. The manga only ran for a month in the Monthly Afternoon magazine until the July 2009 issue because of Kobayashi’s pregnancy and maternity leave. There is a one-shot story in the current June issue of Monthly Afternoon.
17th issue of Good! Afternoon, Kon Kimura will resume his Kyo-musume manga after a hiatus of about two and a half years, the comedy follows the everyday life of a huge girl who runs a yakitori shop.
