The 5 member boy band Arashi will be holding charity events in support of the victims of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake at the Tokyo Dome, from June 24th to 26th. a portion of the proceeds will be donated to disaster relief. The boys were originally scheduled to perform at the Tokyo Done as part of their nationwide tour, but due to the electricity shortage in Japan, they changed the five Tokyo Done concerts into charity events instead.

The theme for the events will be “Arashi’s school”. The members will each take on the role of teachers to create events that are fun and education for their “students”

Member Matsumoto Jun said “We want to make it an exciting school where people can have fun and learn what’s important in thinking about Japan’s future.”

Ninomiya Kazunari commented saying “We want to make it fun in the framework of ‘education’“.

Each member will take turns to play teacher, their classes will hold 225,00 students. The members are still figuring out what the contest of events will have, but Matsumoto revealed “We want to do something that you can only do at the Tokyo Dome, and an audience participation model where we can do experiments with the audience together.”

Shortly after these charity events, on the 6th July, Arashi will be releasing their 10th original album “Beautiful World”. A nationwide tour will be after the album and will start from the 24th July in Osaka and continue till January 15th 2012!

When talking about the tour Ninomiya commented saying “Right after the earthquake, there was a mood of self-discipline, but as someone who is a part of it, I’m happy that the entertainment world is coming back. I want people to just enjoy the live.”

Aren’t the boys really kind and caring? I could see this being another live version of D No Arashi especially when Aiba is playing the role of teacher, I wonder if he will do his wacky experiments again?
