“Street fashion“. The word is used to describe fashion where the wearer customizes outfits by adopting a mixture of current and traditional trends. The country that had really emphasized that aspect is Japan. Japan street fashion has been the boldest street fashion. It has so much character that…you simply get blown away. (or scared away…depends how you take it)
This is a list of 10 summer Japan street fashion looks. Love it, hate it, comment below!
*note: the list is not in order of preference
What’s more Japanese than kimonos. Other than the hanabi festivals, you can totally pull off this look on the street as well! (Are those onions that she’s holding??)
Punk, rock, style. That’s the three words that came to my mind when I saw this outfit. Despite it being all black, you still see a lot of variation and details in his outfit and accessories!
The pattern of her shirt totally reminds me of the Chinese maids in the olden times. Who would’ve thought that the pattern would go so well with sneakers! On top of that, her colourful bag really brought a nice bright touch to her outfit.
Although he is wearing pants, with awesome shades like those, it doesn’t look like he’s feeling the heat at all! The scarf may clash with summer, but with neutral colours on top, the scarf and the red sandals really completes the outfit.
You might think girls with short hair likes to dress like a guy. No with this one! She neutralizes it all by wearing socks with strawberries and DIY rings with vintage-like cotton and lady-like lace. And that dress…best way to keep your legs nice and cool.
Nice cool herim pants! A necessity for this summer. The leopard print pants, surprisingly, goes very well with her fish net sweater. To prevent the look from being TOO punk rock, her white high heel sandals definitely cools the look down a little.
Finally, something that you would actually see in cities in North America. But the aspects that makes this outfit awesome are the detailed accessories. Her fedora, her necklace, and her rings are so crucial to this look. On top of that, the contrast between her blonde hair and her gladiators is very nice!
I…um…LOVE THE LOOK!! (Perhaps more on a girl but it’s still so effin awesome) This outfit really captures what street fashion really is. It may not show up in this picture, but behind his intricate scarf is a leopard print shirt, and his bag is actually from…Gucci! *gasp* By wearing his shades, this person just exude STYLE! DIVA!
This look takes maxi dress to a whole new level. You would usually think maxi dress are for girly girls, but the look here creates a bit of *umph* with bright red earphones and sneakers. And also, her expression is so cool and swagger…
Wow. Talk about messy but awesome style! With her frizzles hair and irregularly draped fabric, she really captured that earthy and vintage look here. Best thing about it? The adorable little hat accessory on her head! It really adds a more feminine side to the entire outfit.
So, what are you guys’ take on this? Amazed? Inspired? Or even scared?
Personally, I don’t think I would wear many of these outfits out on the streets of North America, but there are so many little aspects from these looks that we can take, so that we can display our own personality onto our own outfits!
