Looks like this will be the first attempt at voice acting for JPop group Hey! Say! JUMP’s Yamada Ryosuke, as he shall be participating in the Japanese dub of “The Smurfs“!
Fellow member Chinen Yuri will also be joining Yamada for the upcoming 3D movie, which will be debuting in America on July 29th. The story is about blue characters called Smurfs trying to find their way back to their village before the evil wizard Garamel gets to them first.
Yamada said, “I’m receiving advice from Chinen, who has experience as a voice actor, so I don’t ruin the cute image of the Smurfs.” He will be the “Clumsy Smurf” and aims to try his hardest. “I want to do my best with him!”
On the other hand, Chinen will be voicing the “Friendly Smurf”. He said, “I did try voice acting once in the past, but I had a lot of trouble with it… I think it’ll be hard this time, but I want little me to play a little blue elf!” Well, here’s another chance for you to improve!
This movie will begin airing in Japan on September 9th. I shall be anticipating the American release too, since that one comes first. Good luck to the two Hey! Say! JUMP members! Anyone looking forward to hearing how they will voice their characters?
