Arashi’s Aiba Masaki hospitalized due to spontaneous pneumothorax

It has just been revealed that Arashi member Aiba Masaki was urgently hospitalized in the middle of the night on June 28th due to spontaneous pneumothorax (collapsed lung). Spontaneous pneumothorax occurs when air is collected in the space around lungs, causing a buildup that puts a lot of pressure on the lungs and prevents it from expanding normally. This was Aiba’s second encounter with spontaneous pneumothorax after being hospitalized with it for 5 days back in 2002.

Johnny’s Entertainment revealed that Aiba had felt sharp chest pains during the filming of “Arashi ni Shiyagare” and went to the hospital for examination immediately after filming ended. He was diagnosed with spontaneous pneumothorax on the 29th, and will be hospitalized for about a week, along with a brief rest for his health. Hopefully, he will get plenty of rest and recover quickly!
