Mayu Shinjo the Manga creator announced on her blog that a live-action film adaptation of her Ai Ore! Love Me! (Ai-Ore! Danshikō no Hime to Joshikō no Ōji) had been put on the definite list, hopefully with the film being open to Japan at the end of the year.

The manga is based on two teenagers: Mizuki, the female “prince” of her all-girls school and the lead guitarist in an all-girl rock band, and Akira, the male “princess” of his all-boys school. Akira wanted to join Mizuki’s band Blaue Rosen when the band’s current lead singer moves overseas however he has to first overcome Mizuki’s suspicious misgivings.

The manga was first launched in Shogakukan’s Shōjo Comic (now named Sho-Comi) under the name of Ai o Utau yori Ore ni Oborero! but then the manga moved to Kadokawa’s Monthly Asuka magazine and Shinjo changed the title. The current series is currently on hiatus.

Also the first volume of the manga was published by Viz Media in North America in May, the same publisher also published Shinjo’s Sensual Phrase Manga.
