Studio Ghibli’s “Tonari no Totoro (My Neighbor Totoro)” has managed to stay on the Oricon DVD Ranking chart for 500 weeks now. Having been released on September 28th, 2001, the DVD has stayed on the rankings for nine years and ten months as of August 1st. “My Neighbor Totoro” is the first DVD to reach this achievement since Oricon began its DVD chart in April of 1999. The “My Neighbor Totoro” DVD has sold over 1,084,000 copies in total and is 9th place in the ‘Oricon Generation DVD Sales’ ranking.

That’s just amazing! Since this movie is so popular and much-loved, I’m sure “My Neighbor Totoro” will continue to stay on the rankings for quite some time. After all, who doesn’t love Totoro?!
