It was just revealed that popular anime series “Shinryaku! Ika Musume“ will be getting a second season this year, which will be titled “Shinryaku!? Ika Musume.“ Originally written by Anbe Masahiro, “Shinryaku! Ika Musume” first got serialized through ‘Weekly Shounen Champion‘ in 2007, then got an anime adaptation in October 2010 with a total of 12 episodes.
The story follows Ika Musume, a girl who comes from the sea and is the daughter of a squid. She wants to destroy mankind for polluting the ocean. The home base she choses belongs to the ‘Aizawa sisters’, and damaging it caused her to stop her plans and work at the beach house in order to pay for the repairs.
To celebrate the second season, the makers of “Ika Musume” will be teaming up with Ministop to release foods based on the series. “Shinryaku! Ika Musume” will air on BS Japan every Friday at 11PM starting on August 26th.
