Arashi’s Matsumoto Jun was recently featured in a CM for Meiji Milk Chocolate, whose 85th anniversary is this year.

In the CM, Matsumoto is walking through a ‘chocolate world’ in a clean-cut suit. To express the idea that Meiji Milk Chocolate has been loved for many generations, Matsumoto sits by a girl on a bench and says, “Your mom, and your mom’s mom have eaten this same chocolate for many years“, and magically makes a chocoalte bar appear in his hand. He continues, “Maybe your children will too..“, and the little girl happily agrees as she sniffs the piece of chocolate bar he gave her and says, “I’m gonna end up liking it too!“.

In order to execute his magic trick perfectly, Matsumoto practiced every chance he could. He commented, “Even if I could perform the magic trick well, I’m not sure if I can do it while saying my lines…“, but he successfully pulled off the magic trick and produced a great commercial, even impressing the professional magician who came with him.
