Meow. Halloween is when the witches come flying out, zipping around on their broomsticks and accompanying them are their black cats. Well, black cats in anime is the name of the game today and we’ll find out just how prevalent black cats are in anime.
Kuroneko-sama
She is a black cat that randomly appears in all episodes of the anime Trigun and randomly in the manga. The author Nightow has claimed that she is easy and calming to draw, hence her appearance. Her name means “black cat”.

Jiji
Jiji is the black cat of Kiki of Kiki’s Delivery Service and accompanies her on her journey to be a witch. He gives Kiki good advice and is smitten with a white cat that lives near them.

Kaya
Kaya is a normal cat, with the exception of its eyes (gold and blue). It was possessed by evil spirtual being Amanjaku. But besides that, this cat from Gakkou no Kaidan is quite normal. I wouldn’t blame the normal cat for all the destruction in the anime.

Kuro
This Kuro is from Love Hina and has quite the large ears, almost like a rabbit’s ears. But he really is a black cat - just that he can fly. Have you ever seen cats fly? Then again, this is an anime we’re talking about.

Kuro
What’s this? We have another Kuro? Well, Kuro does mean black. Appearing in Ao no Exorcist, Kuro is a two-tailed demon cat that has horns. He is a very energetic cat, but don’t let this cute appearance fool you! When provoked, he turns into a very ferocious big cat. But, he can be calmed down with catnip wine, so it’s all good.

Nya
This little black cat is quite the demon. He is a little black cat that is with the demon angel Shia in Pita Ten and is named Nya because of the sound it makes (cats go nya in Japan). But, Nya isn’t his real name, but that’s not revealed either.

You know, if I were a witch, I’d go with Jiji. He looks the nicest out of them all! Nya is a little too devilish for my tastes on Halloween.
Which black cat is the cutest? Do you know of any other black cats in animes?
