Actress Nagasawa Masami will star in the upcoming WOWOW drama “Bushin,” playing the role of both ‘Mariko’ and of ‘Futaba.’ “Bushin,” meaning Doppelganger, hints at the theme of this movie, based on a novel written by best-selling mystery author Higashino Keigo.

The story mainly follows Mariko, a female college student from Sapporo, as she investigates the mystery of her past. She encounters Futaba in Tokyo, a woman who resembles her so much that she could be a long-lost twin. Mariko’s search gets complicated, and Futaba questions her own existence.

Nagasawa commented, “It’s a very interesting role. They both have different outfits and make-up, which helps me to realize who I’m playing right now. It’s an interesting sensation and I hope I will be able to finish the filming without losing that.

“Bushin,” directed by Nagato Koto, will also star actors Katsuji Ryo, Usuda Asami, Suzuki Sawa, Tezuka Satomi, Ibu Masato, and Sano Shiro. WOWOW will broadcast every Sunday at 10:00 pm, starting February 12th and running for five episodes.
