After 15 years together, rock band DOPING PANDA has announced they will disband this April.

DOPING PANDA formed in 1997 and debuted as a major band in 2005, releasing two albums that year (which is quite an accomplishment). Their final performance, titled “DOPING PANDA 2012/4/19,” will be held on April 19th as the TOKYO DOME CITY HALL.

Vocalist and guitarist, Furukawa Yutaka, posted the following message on the band’s official website:

We decided that we would come to an end if we couldn’t go any further, music-wise.

I haven’t listened to DOPING PANDA much, but my roommate loves them and has become sad over this. I agree they they have some pretty good music, so I hope the members won’t be retiring from music completely and will join into other or create new bands.
