With Valentine’s Day approaching, it’s time to think about who you’ll be giving your chocolates to. Japan pretty much became a forerunner with its popularization of Valentine’s Day and even you can dream of which JPOP idol would make for the perfect Valentine.

Aya Hirano
Her innocent, girl-next-door looks will have guys swooning and clamoring to give her chocolates. Though mainly a voice actress, she has released a few successful songs here and there. Despite her troubles, she still continues to plow through to be the successful person she is. Doesn’t she look a little like Kim Tae Hee here?

Hikaru Utada
Ah, Hikaru Utada, or best known as Utada. She is one of Japan’s most successful artists, with three of her albums on the Oricon’s Top 10 best selling albums of all time. Because she has promoted in the US and even studied at Columbia University for a brief semester, you’d easily be able to converse with her. And she always has that cheerful look about her.

Mika Nakashima
Ah, Mika Nakashima. Known for her role as Nana, she bears more of an image of that of a strong woman, one who is stubborn and strong-willed. You’re probably better not giving her any cute or frilly Valentine’s chocolate, but she is still a girl, meaning deep inside, she’d like some. I think that she would make for a cool Valentine!

Nami Tamaki
Nami Tamaki has been one of my favorite JPOP artists and she grew from an innocent young lady to one with a fierce and sexy look. She is quite versatile in her looks and has been described to be a loyal and kind person.

Yui Makino
Yui Makino is one of the most under-rated voice actresses and JPOP singers out there. Her fans have described her to be a nice, caring, kind, and down-to-earth person. With her different voice pitches, she can act for innocent, mysterious, cute girls. And doesn’t she look so sweet?

YUI
YUI is by far my favorite JPOP artist. Her voice is sweet, but at times a bit husky. She exudes a mysterious aura, as if she’s always thinking about something else, as if she’s elsewhere. She would make a fun Valentine because of her singing skills and her confidence.
