A lot of bands in Japan don’t always stick together for very long, and recently, there have been quite a few announcements of groups disbanding. It’s great, then, to hear that Astray will be a new band entering into the scene.
Recently, they’ve been adding information about themselves on their website. Astray is a five-member band consisting of members (stated in order left to right from above picture): Katsuki (gu), Yami (dr), Kaguya (vo) [ex-GRIEVER as SIN, ex-BERLIN], Taiga (gu), and YOURI (ba) [ex-GRIEVER, ex-SoЯARiS].
On March 22nd, Astray will perform their first concert in the Jackman’s two-year anniversary sponsored tour at Osaka MUSE, and have a second performance on April 8th at Shinsaibashi soma.
Head over to Astray’s official homepage if you’re interested in checking out a preview of their music or reading their bios.
For only hearing a 60-second preview of their song, I think it’s interesting. The music is a bit hardcore, with a lot of guitar and drums and semi-growled vocals), but there are some fun twists with the bass happening and the vocals (when not screamed) are really nice to listen to.
