6 Cute Anime/Manga Couples That Will Make You Say ‘Aww…’

It’s February, which means Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Since the day is centered around love and relationships, it seems quite appropriate to go through and name some of the cutest couples in anime and manga.

Li Syaoran & Kinomoto Sakura (Cardcaptor Sakura)
First up is the adorable Cardcaptor couple, Li Syaroan and Kinomoto Sakura. This adorable couple started off as classmates, who were both after Clow Cards. However, even though they started off as competitors, both ended up finding out that they needed each other’s help…and eventually became more than just friends.

Higurashi Kagome & Inu Yasha (Inu Yasha)
Second we have the pair that can travel through time, Kagome and Inu Yasha. These two start off when Kagome accidentally removes the arrow from Inu Yasha’s chest that pinned him to a tree for years, and they head off to gather all of the shards to the Jewel of Four Souls. At first they annoy the hell out of each other, but after traveling together for so long it was inevitable for their relationship to grow into something more. However, Inu Yasha’s first love, Kikyou proves to be a bit of a problem for the pair as Inu Yasha is unable to let her go, and Kagome is her reincarnation. Either way, this pair is one of the cutest to watch with how they go from annoying the hell out of each other to protecting each other no matter what the situation is.

Sohma Kyo & Honda Tohru (Fruits Basket)
Next we have the adorable couple from Fruits Basket, Sohma Kyo and Honda Tohru. These two end up meeting when Kyo literally drops in unexpectedly to fight his cousin, the rat…Yuki. Tohru…in normal Tohru-fashion…slips on a board and ends up tackling Kyo thus turning him into a cat and infuriating him. However, the two end up living under the same roof along with Shigure and Yuki becoming close friends and eventually the two end up caring for each other as more than just that. Kyou, who tends to blend in well with others, tends to keep an protective eye on Tohru because let’s face it…the girl is a space cadet…but it gives Kyou a sense of purpose. Either way, the interaction between these two is absolutely adorable, which is why they are on this list. ^^

Suou Tamaki & Fujioka Haruhi (Ouran High School Host Club)
Suou Tamaki and Fujioka Haruhi are the next couple on the list. Tamaki and Haruhi met in high school after Haruhi entered as a first year academic student…as in she got a full-ride to the school because she was smart. Of course the first day of school she can’t find a quiet place to study and stumbles on the Ouran High School Host Club’s clubroom and because of her appearance, Tamaki mistakes her for a boy and treats her like a dog. Of course…everyone else begins realizing that “he” is in fact a “she”, and when Tamaki suddenly realizes it…his completely won over. Unfortunately for Tamaki…he tries to hide these feelings by calling her his “daughter”…which makes it extra awkward…, but he eventually comes to terms with everything and so does Haruhi. It just takes…forever. BUT it’s the awkwardness between the two that makes them one of the cutest couples!

Luka Crosszeria & Giou Yuki (Uragiri wa Boku no Namae)
The fifth pair is not your average pair as it is Luka Crosszeria and Giou Yuki from Uragiri wa Boku no Namae. This pair is from a much darker anime/manga series than the ones above, but the story behind their relationship is a touching one. Luka, a Duras, who defected to join the humans because he fell in love with Giou Yuki…but not the Giou Yuki of today, the female Giou Yuki who passed away years ago. Because of his love for the female Giou Yuki, he seeks out the Giou Yuki of today…who is a male, and protects him. The male Yuki, however, has no memory of his former life with Luka…all he knows is that his heart responds very strongly to LUka whenever he sees him. Either way, Luka vows to stay at Yuki’s side for as long as Yuki wants him to be there. So is it love? I think so…that’s why they are one of my cutest couples.

Kajika Burnsworth & Fang Li Ren (Hanasakeru Seishounen)
Finally the sixth and final couple of the list…Kajika Burnsworth and Fang Li Ren. Kajika and Li Ren grew up together on a far away island away from the chaotic world. When Li Ren, who is a bit of an arrogant child with a cold heart, meets Kajika…the ice around his heart begins to melt and well…their story begins. Li Ren, who ends up as the head of his family at a young age, works with Kajika’s father, who is the head of an oil company. One day, Kajika’s father sits Kajika down and says that he has picked out 3 incredible young men from prominent families to be her fiancee and she has to choose which one to marry, thus pissing off Li Ren, who acts like the protective older brother who has romantic feelings for the younger girl. The whole anime is about Kajika trying to find her soulmate between these three guys…, but can you guess who she picks? Anyway, if you haven’t watched the anime and you like the shoujo, male harem, romance type of animes, this is a cute anime and couple to watch.
