When it comes to survival, food is one of the necessities, but good food…isn’t always as easy to come by and there are certainly people that just CANNOT cook, even if their life depended on it. So which ones should stay out of the kitchen? Well I’ve got 5 characters that should avoid it at all cost…

Tendo Akane (Ranma ½)
We’re going a bit old school for the first choice and that person is Tendo Akane from Ranma ½. Akane is a great fighter, who can even take on the guys, but when it comes to cooking, fashion and other feminine things…she falls short and as far as cooking goes…she falls WAY short. For example, Akane made cookies for Ranma and after chasing Kodachi for her cookies, Ranma finally ends up with them…until Happosai jumps in and snatches them away. Unfortunately for Happosai…he eats them and starts crying saying, “Why didn’t you tell me they weren’t meant for human consumption?” Poor guy…that will teach him from snatching people’s food…especially anything Akane makes…

Inui Sadaharu (Prince of Tennis)
Next on the list is the four-eyed data tennis player, Inui Sadaharu, whose specialty is juice. Not just any juice…Inui Special Juice for the body! Juice that is either green…or blue…or red?! It was Inui’s special concoction for the team’s training that he called Penal-tea and boy was it a penalty. As soon as it touched their mouths, the drinker screams out of disgust and ends up falling unconscious. Funny enough, Inui and Fuji were able to drink a couple of Inui’s concoctions…, but some of them even Inui couldn’t handle (i.e. the one he put sardines in). Considering the reactions of not only Seigaku’s Tennis Club and the various other tennis club members that were forced to drink his Penal-teas…I think I’ll avoid his Penal-tea at all costs. If anything, it would keep me motivated enough to win, right?

Yamada Ayumi (Honey and Clover)
I have to admit…I don’t know much about the series Honey and Clover, but there’s one thing I know for sure… Yamada Ayumi cannot cook! Ayumi is an art student, who specializes in pottery, and has a special relationship with Hagu and attracts quite a few guys… However, the guys may want to rethink their choice…because she might end up killing them with her food like beef and kumquats or something else absolutely strange. In fact…Dr. Satsuki actually tries it and practically gets struck down by lightning sending her off to the world beyond… kind of… Funny thing is Ayumi thinks she’s an incredible cook, but I’ll let her keep thinking that while I avoid her food…maybe I’ll just have to find a dog whenever she comes over, but that may be too cruel for the dog.

Inoue Orihime (Bleach)
Another person I would steer away from the kitchen is Inoue Orihime. This girl could not cook for the life of her…or at least not for anyone else. Inoue has the tendency to make her own creations like Inui and Yamada Ayumi. Thankfully, she usually keeps her creations to herself, but she does try to share it and everyone graciously declines. Even then…I think I’ll keep this girl out of the kitchen… At least no one fell unconscious from her food unlike others…I guess…

Usami Akihiko (Junjou Romantica)
Akihiko is another one of those that you should keep away from the kitchen…just ask Misaki. This 30-year old author is quite the interesting character… For one…he’s HOT (or he would be if he was a real person), he’s wealthy, he has a nice apartment, and he seems to be personable… However, his friend’s college student brother, Misaki sees the other side of Akihiko…the helpless Usami Akihiko who can’t cook, clean, and is extremely clingy. So why shouldn’t you let him come near the kitchen? II can give you two examples from the first couple of episodes, one…one day Akihiko goes to pour himself a cup of coffee…he picks up a regular cold glass, pours the coffee in…the cup shatters while in his hand; two…Akihiko decides he’s going to make Misaki breakfast, so he makes eggs. Not only is the kitchen a war zone when Misaki comes down from his room, but Akihiko has a brown mound on the table… It was supposed to be an omelet…except you had to use your chopsticks as a chisel and then it cracked open…like an egg… Yuck… Anyone daring enough to try it?

So that’s some of the worst anime cooks… I would suggest if you are considering them as your anime significant other, you either know how to cook yourself or have quite a bit of money to go out to restaurants every night. Are there any other terrible cooks that you need to keep out of the kitchen?
