Either when I’m in a certain mood or I want to be in a certain mood, all I want is music. I know a lot of people can relate to this as well, so I’ve comprised a list of songs from various Hello! Project groups that fit a certain mood. I chose H!P because they have so many different groups and, therefor, so many different feelings and styles. These are songs that appeal to me in a time when I need them, so individual results may vary.
1.) Go Girl ~Koi No Victory~ by Morning Musume
The old generation of Morning Musume. Man, do I miss these days. This song, like most, is a song about love, but instead of a sad love song, it’s very happy and really gets you jumping up and down. The tune is very fast-paced, and bright and the lyrics are very meaningful as well. Over all, if you just need an upbeat to life, this song is for you!
2.) Watarasebashi by Aya Matsuura
I know this was a cover song, but Aya Matsuura really put feeling into this song. Watarasebashi has a very slow tempo, filled with words of longing and rememberance. This song really calms me and fits well when I’m in the mood of remembering what is once had but now lost. If you are ever in this type of mood and really need to connect to something, you should definitely give this song a listen!
3.) Onaji Jikyuu De Harakute Tomodachi No Bijin Mama by S/mileage
S/mileage is well known for their overly cute image, and this song is no different. Have you ever had that feeling when you like somebody and someone you know does too? In this song, the girls are having a war over a guy against their friend’s Beautiful Mama. It’s a bit odd, but it’s great to listen to if you have jealousy, and not to mention cute as well!
4.) Honto No Jibun by Buono!
Honto No Jibun, like the title indicates, is being true to yourself. This song really gets to me because, not only is it a lot of fun, but it really send the message of “No matter what, just be you and always try your best!” The beat is catchy and something you can dance to, while the lyrics are proud and shout an awesome message. So, if you’re ever in a state of doubt, just remember “Honto no jibun”!
5.) Shiroi Iro Wa Koibito No Iro by W
W was very well-known for cover songs, and this one is no different. We see a lot of love songs now adays, but this is the only one that really screams out to me (well… sings). It depicts the colors of love; the flowers, the sunset, the memories, etc. It’s very beautifully done and this is the kind of thing that really makes me miss this duo. The tempo is slow and the words flutter through the song as if they were part of the music. Whether it’s a first love, or a past love, or any love at all, if you can relate I really recommend this song.
