Sailor Moon is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and in commemoration of its 20th year in existence, creator Naoko Takeuchi, along with publisher Kodansha held a live event.

During this live event, it was announced that the series would see a new anime adaptation, targeted for the summer of 2013 and that Momoiro Clover Z would be given the honor of performing the theme song. At the event, the group performed Moonlight Densetsu.

It is not known whether original seiyuus of Sailor Moon/Usagi Tsukino and Tuxedo Mask/Mamoru Chiba, Kotono Mitsuishi and Tohru Furuya, respectively, would reprise their same roles, though they were present for the live event.

Apparently, the new adaptation will stay truer to the manga for original fans, not for kids.
