Actor Shōta Sometani will star in Shion Sono’s upcoming live-action film adaptation of Minoru Furuya’s Himizu psychological drama manga! Expect it to be aired in Japan next spring. The story revolves around Yūichi Sumida (Sometani), a third-year middle school boy who longs for a normal life, but a certain incident sets him on a descent into darkness. A live-action adaptation of Shōhei Harumoto’s Kirin motorcycle racing manga has been set for release this fall. Claude Maki will star in the film as the lead role. The director of the film is Gitan Ōtsuru, he said about the pressure in filming what has been called ‘The motorcycle-riding bible’.
