From Ningin: In July, Japanese video game publisher, Capcom (Devil May Cry, Street Fighter, Resident Evil), will open up Capcom Seaside House, a themed shop and restaurant area located on the beaches of Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. More »

Capcom likes to gives us treats, and with Capcom Captivate, we have been getting them in the bucket loads. I recently mentioned that the new Okami sequel will be coming to US shores on the Nintendo DS very soon, but I never really drove home how amazing the art style of this game is. The original blew so many minds with its bright vibrant colors and awesome use of cell shading technology. This game is no different, and carries that same beautiful stylistic touch to a new platform. More »

Recently at Captivate, Capcom’s personal mini E3, many cool game releases were announced, and because of that, they seemed to overshadow this little gem. Okamiden, sequel to the hit title Okami on the Playstation 2 and Nintendo Wii, was confirmed for a US release sometime in Fall 2011. Maybe not as big of a story as Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but definitely something I am excited for! More »

Though it isn’t much different than the previous announced Super Street Fighter IV boxart displayed in January, this slick and improved design will be the final cover for the game releasing at the end of April. It is pretty interesting that Capcom actually took the time to listen to fans, who didn’t really think the art was in the “super” category, and actually changed it before release. More »

I know you are tired of playing as Chun Li in the same old blue and white outfit, or as Ryu in his lame old white Gi. Thankfully Capcom knows what’s up and has taken all the costume packs down 50% from their original price point in order to celebrate Super Street Fighter IV’s release on April 27th. More »

Megaman holds a dear place in my heart. I remember renting Megaman 2 for NES, and in order to just keep the game 3 days longer, my 6 year old self attempted to fool my mom into returning Snakes Rattle and Roll instead of my favorite robot killer. Even though my plan failed miserably, the memory lives on. With the resurgence of old school gaming possibilities on the Wiiware, Xbox live Arcade, and Playstation Network, us gamers can relive those classic game types in all new games released by the major developers who sparked it all. Translation be hard time for people.
There is no denying that most of the gaming gold brought to the United States is shipped over here from different countries, but no one country gives us more to ogle about than the Land of the Rising Sun. Japan keeps packing our gullets full of their delicious gaming gravy and I myself can’t help but to come back for more. But like most foods, those yummy morsels pass through many a hand before they are properly processed and packed, and a lot can go wrong along the way, specifically in terms of translation from Japanese to English. Here are some games that didn’t quite get it right when they made the hop over the Pacific. More »
Everything these days seems to end up becoming an anime. Take Devil May Cry for example, an anime based off the popular Capcom video game franchise. Or Samurai 7, a loose retelling of Akira Kurosawa’s famous film the Seven Samurai. It seems nothing is safe from the grasp of anime lately. So with that in mind, I decided to come up with five films that should be made into an anime series. Here’s what I got: More »
